We are lying in our bed on a sunday morning, listening to the seagulls taunt us from the brightness outside, contemplating darker days.

"What card games do you know" I ask "for when it is wintery and cold and we don't want to go outside?"

"We don't need card games" he says sensibly, "we can just stay in bed and make out."
