Before, then after.
Particularly when there is soft, moist cake underneath. I fiddle with this recipe often, using hedgerow fruits or berries from the garden (or freezer). I then offset the luxury of butter and sugar in excess with a wholesome (if similarly rib-sticking) soup. Red peppers, chorizo, butter beans and black nero; a huge bear hug in a bowl.
We are going to supper with friends on Saturday. He assures me that he has passed on my dietary needs, and my preferences. Well, hopefully not ALL my preferences.

The soup recipe (or an approximation thereof) would be welcome. Pretty please....?
Preferences: a slippery topic. Personally, I prefer submitting to another's preferences. I'd rather be whipped than buggered, but would gladly offer myself up for either. In the event, it's often oral AGAIN, but let's not rock the boat. We are old enough to know that many people our age have just stopped. COMPLETELY, with little prospect of restarting.
Lamb prices are coming down, I see, which is good. I haven't yet bought H F-W's latest.
DD off to uni this weekend, which should provide more opportunities to sneak off to bed for a quickie.

Do try the lamb curry from today - it is sooo good. HFW has gone veggie!
I hope I never stop.
And cheers all round for quickies.
Thank you!
Both firmly on the "to do" list -- will report back.
And yes, we're taking full advantage of a child-free house!
