flamin'

Possibly the easiest supper you'll never have to actually *cook*. Put it in an oven and enjoy the emerging aromas. Toss occasionally. Taste a roast potato to check they are going crispy. Serve to (almost) delirious appreciation. Paprika and orange, succulence and crunch.

Nigella's Spanish Chicken

A large baking tray
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Chicken - a breast and drumstick per child worked
A ring of chorizo - oh, my big failure of the evening. Not enough SAUSAGE. A mere 250g and could have been twice as large for the children that i was feeding.
A packet of baby new potatoes, chopped into regular sizes.
The zest of an orange.
A good pinch of dried oregano

Pile all into the tray and bake at 220ÂșC for an hour or so.

Looks like a great recipe.

Your influence on the diet of this household is amazing (although I'm a bit vague on sources, natch).

Just today, courgette cake was produced to rapturous acclaim.

And belly of pork discussed at length with butcher. (What was on offer today wasn't lean enough -- Gloucester Old Spot, tasty but fatty.)

Usual stupid Q: that's the chorizo, sliced, in the photos, right?

And -- hey -- rare culinary advice. (Faint!) Lidl chorizo v. big, and v. good. GO THERE!

Actually, that's a stupid question. Of course it's the chorizo. Why am I so under-confident about this stuff? Arghh!

Seconded on the Lidl Chorizo, delicious stuff, wear a head scarf, dark glasses and overcoat (clothing underneath optional but heels and photos a must.) Oops, my mind seems to have wandered a little there..

That sounds yummy! I will have to make this, but convert the temp for a farenheit oven.

Anon - i like it

M - Lidl, here i come.

I have a safe version of the blog, if you need it.

Ceeej - any opportunity to add a little mystery ;)

ASM - any hot oven will do, it need not be as precise as baking a cake.

I think a link to the safe version would be very helpful!

M - am happy to give you the link, but would prefer not to shout it out here. Do we have a mutual friend who can ferry a message, or perhaps you might email me?
